I have a simple quest:

To employ traditional woodworking methods, the finest materials and timeless designs to produce furniture that exudes warmth, invites touch and matures gracefully.

I employ hand tools in the final shaping and smoothing of wood surfaces, and believe this combination of natural materials and handwork lends an enduring personality to each piece of my furniture.

Because wood is a natural medium, I prefer to preserve its organic spirit by finishing it with natural oils that enhance its true color. This finish enables the wood to mature gracefully, creating a patina that is enhanced by time and use. My furniture should be used, and not excessively pampered. Part of the charm of antiques is that they contain a visual record of the use they have received over the years.

I adhere to environmentally sound principles, which include avoiding the use of endangered woods, recycling our waste and utilizing passive solar energy to assist in heating our home and shop situated at 7600 feet in Colorado. My furniture is designed and built to last for generations. As I enter my fourth decade in business my dedication to these principles remains steadfast.

Like people, wood is by nature a unique material with varied personalities.

My challenge is to combine these traits in a manner which creates furniture with character. I spend a great deal of time individually selecting, milling and orienting boards for the best combination of grain, figure and color.
